Important Documents
Curacao visitors must be able to present a valid passport and a return ticket on arrival. Depending on where you’re coming from, you may also be required to present a valid visa to customs officials in order to enter the country. Make sure to check these requirements beforehand, create copies and store them in a safe and separate location in the unlikely event that it gets lost. If you’re planning to drive a vehicle to explore the island on your own, you must also bring a driver’s license in order to be eligible for renting a car. A few other important documents to remember to bring with you include your prescription slip for special medication, an emergency contact list, and your hotel confirmation.
Swimwear
Consider the activities that you intend to do when you get to Curacao. What’s an island vacation without taking a dip in the ocean or lounging around by the pool? If you plan to travel light, make sure to pack at least two swimwear options so you can alternate swimsuits on different days.
Tropical Clothing
Island fashion is very light and breezy. The weather is most likely going to be hot and sunny during your stay in Curacao so make sure to pack appropriate clothing. Shorts, tank tops, swimsuit coverups, light dresses, and flowy pants are tropical clothing staples.
Sun Protection
Getting badly sunburnt can put a damper on your vacation. Make sure to pack some sun protection essentials such as sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a light coverup with you to avoid sun damage.
Bug Spray
Although you will hardly encounter them while you’re staying in your hotel, mosquitos and other bugs may appear when you step outside for sunsets on the beach or go out for dinner. Make sure to bring and apply bug spray to avoid the mild annoyance of these tiny critters.
Packing for Curacao is actually a breeze and indicative of the vibe you’ll get once you arrive.
Keep it cool and just travel light!
